The Apostle Paul writes, “But strive for the greater gifts.
And I will show you a still more excellent way.” — 1 Corinthians 12:31
Paul is writing about the many gifts God has given to the members of the church. Each gift is different, yet each one matters. But Paul reminds us that the gifts themselves are not the destination. They find their highest purpose when they are used in the way of love.
This fall, we will begin a four-week stewardship focus called A More Excellent Way: Living Gratefully. Giving Faithfully.

Giving is part of how we follow Jesus and share responsibility for our church. Our gifts support worship, staff, children’s and youth ministries, service to our neighbors, and the buildings where we gather.
We believe God has given Bremen First United Methodist Church many gifts. We see those gifts in the people who worship, teach, serve, pray, give, welcome, lead, and care for others. We also believe God is still calling us forward—to reach new people, nurture children and youth, serve our community, deepen our discipleship, and share Christ's love.
